How VVPN network tools use data

Your public IP check

Your browser requests an IP response from VVPN’s own server. The response reports the network address that server observes. The IP response is not cached, and this endpoint has access logging disabled. The homepage widget only checks your IP. On the IP explorer page, location and network information come from DB-IP Lite databases hosted on VVPN’s server. IP lookups stay on VVPN. The map uses OpenFreeMap tiles, fonts and sprites delivered through VVPN’s server. Your browser contacts only VVPN for map resources. On a cache miss, OpenFreeMap receives VVPN’s server address and the requested map area, not your IP lookup value, cookies or browser headers. Public map resources are cached separately from IP results, with access logging disabled. Location is approximate; no GPS permission is requested. The lookup endpoint has access logging disabled and responses are not cached. A short-lived, in-memory counter per connecting address enforces request limits. The databases are updated monthly; their edition dates appear with results.

WHOIS registration lookups

WHOIS lookups use public RDAP services selected from IANA’s registry directory. Your browser sends the domain to VVPN; VVPN requests it from the registry over HTTPS. The registry receives the queried domain and VVPN’s server address, not your browser IP, cookies or headers. Lookup access logging is disabled and responses are not cached. A short-lived in-memory counter limits requests. Records can contain publicly available registrant data and privacy notices. Copy and download actions include the current record. Shared links contain the domain after # and fill the form without submitting a lookup.

DNS record lookups

When you run a lookup, your browser sends the queried name and record type directly to Google Public DNS or Cloudflare, as selected. Comparing resolvers contacts both. These services see your connecting IP and apply their own data policies. Google requests disable EDNS client subnet forwarding. No DNS request is sent merely by opening a tool page.

Geographic checks and delegation traces

Your browser submits the domain, record type and requested probe regions to Globalping. Globalping receives your connecting IP. Submitted domains and measurements are public and may be retained by the provider. Do not submit confidential or internal names. Probe limits and availability apply.

IP lookup sharing and comparisons

The IP explorer lets you look up a public IPv4 or IPv6 address. Its Share lookup action puts the displayed IP in the URL fragment after #; fragments are not sent in the initial website request. Anyone with that link can read the IP. The link fills the field and waits for the recipient to submit. VPN comparison snapshots remain only in the page’s memory and disappear when reset or reloaded. Copy and download actions include only the displayed lookup, not the comparison snapshot.

DNS query links, downloads and website requests

Query links contain the domain or IP and selected settings. Anyone with the link can read them. Loading a shared link fills the form; it does not run a new lookup automatically. Downloaded JSON contains the query and results you see. Website URLs can appear in your browser history and normal server access logs.

The tools do not create a VVPN account or store query history in browser storage. They do not add advertising trackers. Store badges link to Google Play and the App Store; Google Play links include a page-level campaign label, with no lookup value or IP added.
